“This is not to say that the Court should announce the overruling of Lawrence and Obergefell if it decides to overrule Roe and Casey in this case. But neither should the Court hesitate to write an opinion that leaves those decisions hanging by a thread. Lawrence and Obergefell, while far less hazardous to human life, are as lawless as Roe.” — Former Texas Solicitor General and architect of SB8 of Jonathan Mitchell, amicus brief for plaintiffs in Dobbs v Jackson Women’s Health
Nothing has really changed. You blue-state people can have all the abortions you want! But people in states like Mississippi, where they don’t want abortion or they would have elected “pro-choice” officials, have the right to choose to make them illegal — you’re supposed to be all about “choice,” aren’t you? This doesn’t concern you and you’re just embarrassing yourselves pretending it does — typical liberals, you think people who clearly don’t want to have abortions or be called Latinx or let men go to the bathroom with their daughters should be forced to have them anyway! And you call us fascists!
Look, it’s simple — we already established with Dobbs that we’re not doing that stupid “penumbra” thing anymore and pretending there’s a right to privacy that’s nowhere to be found in the Constitution. Just because you want something to be “private” doesn’t mean you can have it if your state legislature doesn’t want you to, and these states clearly don’t want contraceptives and you have no right to force it on them. These are people of faith, just like the Pilgrims. Maybe their religion seems strict to you — frankly it does to me, too, I’m a modern type of person, but it’s not my place to say and it’s not yours either. You liberals certainly love telling other people what to think! Anyway don’t you live in New York or San Fransicko or one of those other places where they’re still killing babies? Well, you can eat all the birth control pills and have all the abortions you want. What do you have to complain about?
A law isn’t a law if it can’t be enforced. We all agree on that, right? So how can you object if Mississippi and those other states want to extradite their own citizens who have gone to other states to break laws that they’re still bound by? It’s like they’re kidnapping babies and taking them to places where baby-killing is legal — how is that right? It’s not like they’re arresting you — as long as you have citizenship in your filthy, amoral blue state you can do whatever you like, none of us care; but these women are citizens of states where their behavior is against the law and if they break it they have to face the consequences. And don’t try those “personal liberty law” trick on us — we took care of that, too. Maybe if you Democrats had shown more willingness to compromise with the new majority, you could have worked in some loopholes. But elections have consequences. Ha ha, hey, isn’t that something your Obama said once? Ha ha, now the shoe’s on the other foot, isn’t it, you baby-killing pedophile atheists?
No penumbra, no “sweet mystery of life” — this is an originalist court and we don’t go for your Franklin School, Immanuel Kant nonsense. There is no right in law or tradition to take our ancient and sacred institutions and pervert them just because it makes the perverts feel good. All we’re doing here is righting a wrong that you did to us. And since y’all have been complaining that we’re “boiling the frog” with all these decisions, we’re doing you the favor of knocking out this illusory right to sodomy at the same time as we knock out these sham homosexual marriages. So, back to Bowers v Hardwick. I thought you people were fans of stare decisis, ha ha ha, bet you didn’t think I’d remember. And listen, you and your fag friends, yeah I said it, you better enjoy your perversions while you can, because we’re not just interpreting laws anymore, we’re making them, and when we pass what we’ve got lined up there ain’t nothing your sissy state legislatures can do about it. And if you sue, guess who gets to decide if it’s constitutional? If I were you I’d keep my fucking mouth shut before someone shuts it for you. Have a blessed day.
It is the end of the Era of Big Government! No longer will government intrude unnecessarily in the private maters of whether or not Acme Chemicals can poison the public water supply. Government has no role to play there! The GOP is getting Big Government out of the boardroom!
At the same time, we conservatives recognize what is really the most vital role government can play: Making sure no citizen does anything with their private parts that WE do not approve of. Only government can ensure that you do the right thing with the right person in the right way.
The GOP: Getting Big Government out of the boardroom and into the bedroom!
Too mild, Roy. They’re already working on bringing back chattel slavery, like in the original Constitution and the Bible. It involves reworking debt laws: student loans, credit card debt, medical bills, mortgages. As soon as your total debt exceeds the minimal annual wage, you’ll be handed over to the likes of Jamie Diamond to be used like any other commodity, you and your family ordered to live and work where your owners see fit. But worry not, future slaves! You can, if you’re young enough, join the imperial military and spend at least 30 years defending against America’s enemies, foreign and domestic. “Service is Freedom!” Alternatively, you can buy your freedom by cranking out “service babies” to be given in exchange for freedom at the low, low rate of two babies for one adult. Of course, you have to raise them to a serviceable age, 12 or so.
