Kia did me the favor of picking up a 1951 book about our new hometown called The Amiable Baltimoreans, written by Francis F. Beirne in the arch style of such tributes in that age. (Baltimoreana seems to have been the bulk of his oeuvre, though I am now interested in his book about the trial of Aaron Burr.)
