It's Dickens and not James, but consider taking the Artful Dodger as your patron saint. Once again, you elude Death's icy clutch! I had every faith you would, but I tend to always be optimistic about these things.
Mamdani, woo hoo! I hope the Dem political/donor/consultant class looks at Mamdani as an opportunity to learn what an angry electorate is telling them, but I'm afraid they're just sharpening their knives right now. The establishment is the establishment for a reason and it doesn't give up power willingly. There's likely a fight coming. And I think the main thing the establishment class doesn't get is that right now the left feels a greater urgency to fight them than it does to fight the Republicans, because it can't fight the latter with the former as it is currently configured.
The storyline seems to be "Look we know he's not perfect but Cuomo is the only viable option." WHY. JFC. I guess people are more comfortable with what they're used to, even if it's shit.
The absolute trivialization of the actions of a vindictive, (he tried to bankrupt his accusers) habitual sex pest should draw a clear line in the sand as to which people in the Dem establishment to keep and which to primary or shunt off the reservation.
I'm sick of offenses against women being shrugged off like some personal peccadillo, akin to jaywalking or not separating your recyclables. Fuck Cuomo all the way to the moon.
I wonder asked a woman musician who spent a year touring with the Elvin Bishop band, a bunch of crusty old blues musicians, what that was like. All she would say was "all men are pigs" over and over.
Your "angry electorate" reminds me of a political cartoon from years ago. Complacent hubby seated on comfy chair, reading the paper and not looking at his wife, who is aiming a rifle at him. She's labeled VOTERS and he's labeled POLITICIANS.
Still remember a writer (although not who) who told the tale of the elected officials of his neighborhood holding a townhall to address "What is the main problem here?" In the writer's account: The hall was packed. Person after person stood up and approached a mic and said "The rent is too high." This went on for hours, to the exclusion of other issues, every person saying "Please find a way to lower, or at least cap, the rent." At last our leaders covered their mics, and huddled in discussion. Whisper-whisper-whisper. Then they returned to their mics. And one of them said, "How about a trolley?" And that's how our neighborhood spent millions of dollars on a trolley.
Roy, it's wonderful to hear from you. Thanks for the update and recover quickly so we can carry on our 40 year tradition of griping over diner cawfee xoxo
So I saw the today’s post and assumed it was a just-before-surgery thing what with being all over the Blue Sky the last two days. More than one about to under let alone was undergoing surgery. Reader, I’m taking a brief break from all the online mishugas whenever I manage to get my (🤞🏻) imminent ambulatory thing scheduled.
Anyway, I looked up pheochromocytoma and now I’m pondering how the condition correlates first with the Voice gig and Alicu and now REBID. Does the pheochromocytoma fuel all that or does the latter create a health risk from engaging in the huge venting and more with REBID?
Meanwhile, the REBID break, my laughs are coming from Fake Tubby and the huge failure of the bombing: a couple month setback while making even clearer to the rest of the world what a profound piece of shit he is: stupid as fuck, untrustworthy and completely psycho. Who wouldn’t want to make a deal with that?
Glad it worked out! Looking forward to your future efforts. Hopefully, Mamdani will break the hold of the big parties and demonstrate that things actually CAN be done to improve lives.
So glad you’re on the mend!
Seconded!

Boys will be boys.
And men will be pigs.

Yes, "sex pest" describes him perfectly, but he did concede when it was clear he had lost (I'm gradin' on a curve now)

SHE: Notice anything different about me?
HE: New hairdo?
"Please put down the gun and let me explain my idea for means-tested Opportunity Zone tax credits."

My gues is that class looks at Mandami and decides RCV must die with fire.
When "Lesser of two evils" is all you've got...
Those RCV results have yet to come in. Mamdani beat Cuomo strongly on the first line
Science does its thing, again. Glad it's behind you.
Happy to live in an age before RFK wrecks everything!
Hey now...Never forget that, concerning RFK (and the Tariff Wrangler, for that matter),
Orange Lies Matter
Lovely to read this. So glad you came through all right and are healing.
Great news! Thanks for the update. Now get some rest and get better!
Better??!! He's already the best!!!!
"a time to cast their fate to the wind"
Shit. Can't get past Vince now (not that I'd want to)...
But
Hearted for how ‘bout that Mamdani!!!
Welcome back, Boss.
Glad to hear from you, old friend!
And very glad you're on the mend.
Thing is, though, when you hit our age,
Medical procedures are all the rage.
It's even worse with such precondition,
A feature of life we'd rather be missing.
So take your time and heal up well.
We'll still be here, as you can tell!
Glad to hear from ya!
Glad your luck is holding! And how about that Mamdani?
Don't mess with the Zohran

I take it you did your part for the Great Result last night. Salut!
Absotively!
Got one o' them sweet Sewer Commissioner or Bridge Tender jobs lined up?
So glad that all is going well!
Thanks for the update, Roy.

I'm had three pheos and three pheo surgeries, so I'm not sure I would ascribe my style to oversupply of catecholamines. That's for history to judge!
I’m clearer — not a fuel nor an unmanaged health risk.
As you know, since your brief respite began, things have gotten even more triggering…
More material for the burgeoning field of Edroso Studies.
Glad it worked out! Looking forward to your future efforts. Hopefully, Mamdani will break the hold of the big parties and demonstrate that things actually CAN be done to improve lives.
Good to have you back!
Welcome back. What a good piece!
Coming from you etc.
