That little Helmut Christian has the same 100 yard Rottweiler stare as his father is only marginally creepier than the children's names - Helga, Hildegard, Helmut, Hedwig, Holdine und Heidrun, all starting with H.
I suppose this means my portrait of Idi Amin is redundant?
The daughter of friends of ours (one of whom is Paul Slansky, a name familiar to some here) has a college roommate who is Goebbels' great-granddaughter. And the girl (we are told) has, or had, no idea exactly who her ancestor was. She just vaguely knew he had been in the German army in WW II. Kids these days, I tell ya.
Whoa, really? Did he have other children who survived him? Or is she a descendant of Harald, in which case she inherited only the Magda part, which is nightmarish enough.
His name was actually Harald Quandt. He had five daughters: [from wikipedia] Katarina Geller (1951), Gabriele Quandt-Langenscheidt (1952), Anette May-Thies (1954), Colleen-Bettina Rosenblat-Mo (1962) and Patricia Halterman (1967–2005). The Quandt family was awesomely successful in business during and after the Reich. The daughters inherited a massive amount of money.
That's not what I'm seeing. Harald was Magda Goebbels' son from her first marriage to Günther Quandt. It seems he was quite close to his stepdad and lived with the Goebbels for at least part of his youth, but he was not the blood descendant of Josef.
Awesome, as always. But that portrait... Well, I knew that Magda Goebbels murdered their children just after Hitler committed suicide. They were dosed with morphine first, then Magda forced cyanide capsules into their mouths. The oldest girl, Helga, appeared to have regained consciousness before the cyanide, because her body was found with her face severely bruised. She struggled. What I didn't know is that the oldest child, Harald, in the uniform, was Magda's son from her first marriage, and that his photo was inserted into the portrait, with the other images manipulated around him. He was in a POW camp during the downfall. He didn't die until 1967, in a plane crash near Italy. This is from the fake news source, wiki, which has interesting stuff; most people don't know that. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goebbels_children
I believe a true Nazi would have used an SS bayonet, and have sung the Horst Wessel Lied, but then I'm just a lowly engineer not some high-falutin writer
According to the WaPo article, this VA guy is a piece of work. At least 3 managers working for him have pending racial discrimination claims. One manager says she spoke to him a few years ago about the art, and he said his wife told him not to put it up, but he liked it. He had an outlet installed so he could illuminate it. Clearly he knew just who Forrest was and was sending a message. 🤬
I don't know much about art, but I know what I reich.

Haven't the Duggars named their kids the same way?
and the Palins!
As always, I am in awe of your talent. But I’m still depressed.
Thanks. Humor helps! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TM0sXkxyK5c

Good q. I don't know. I can ask.

According to wikipedia, though, Quandt was his Goebbels' son from a previous marriage

The family are still gobsmackingly rich. They own big chunks of lots of companies, BMW not least among them.
!
didn't Goebbels and his wife kill all their children just before they committed suicide at the end of the war?

Forrest was also responsible for the Fort Pillow massacre.
At least that one *sounds* comfy.

I just liked the idea of a Nazi jumping and pumping to Fight Song.
I knew this was fake when you didn't say anything about Frommer's use of government airplanes to travel to and from his Eagles Nest in Rock City.
I would have thought a portrait of any Treason General would be out of line, but what do I know?
maybe Patrick Cleburne would have not been too bad
