Query for the writer of this post: Is Morgana or even Lainie a 10? If not, what's the numbers?
Anyway.
Re these good Americans who want businesses to be reopened ASAP, the Times, to its credit, ran that piece over the weekend about the guy who trusted FNC that the virus was a hoax and caught Covid-19 while on a cruise, fatally. Personally, I like to believe in karma and these good Americans have soooo much bad karma that, if it was a thing, is now biting them in their asses big time. (TBH: I'm not in a position to be too stressed financially although I'm still ~a month away from finding out whether I'm involuntarily retired.)
And a second piece: MAGAt [that just slipped out] Haberman's piece about Meadows' crying. Coulda been a great riff here but reality (allegedly) beat Roy to the punch. I dunno; I'm sure he can do something with it some day.
Sort of reading now: "Dying of Whiteness". Somehow, what with their daily pieces reporting on the state of good Americans, the establishment media keep missing what the book documents. A mystery.
Whenever I feel shocked by how self-destructively stupid the “but mah FREEDOMS” brigade is, I remember the Venn diagram of people who believe COVID-19 is only the flu and people who believe the Q-Anon bullshit is just a circle.
Also, the Open Up Crowd is as much an astroturf group as the Teabaggers were in 2009-10. In Michigan they are funded by the DeVos family and heavily promoted by Fox, of course. Bullshit all the way down.
If I found out one of my coworkers attended one of those Freedom/ Death Marches over the weekend I would be down in a HR squawking about unsafe working conditions so fast everybody's goddam head would spin. I would let my HR friends know I was heading home to file for unemployment and could they tell which sounded better for my claim ' unsafe working conditions' or 'dangerous enviroment' or what the hell - How about both ? I would maybe give them the opportunity to marchTyphoid Karen/Bob's plague ridden ass out the door, after which I would probably decide I was too tramatized by the presence of fatal, contagious disease and go home and file for unemployment anyway.
I really hate that it's not unusual for me these days to wish certain people get serously ill. That's fucked up,
The only way I can keep myself from wishing them harm is thinking about all the other blameless people they will infect if they do become sick. Because the MAGAt franchise owners, kitchen/bathroom contractors, and managers who make up the bulk of the “get back to work plebes, won’t someone please think of my profits?” protesters are a death cult.
Nothing's fucked up about wishing sinners punished for their sins. God knows conservatives have brought us to the point that the wealthiest nation in the world (albeit with a huge caveat) is responding to the pandemic with historic, murderous incompetence.
Your example is exactly the problem with our parasitic leaders' lust for "reopening" businesses prematurely (although ending necessary remedial actions prematurely thereby making a bad situation worse is Republican tradition).
Wonderful characters. Well-written descriptions (Parrotheads! I'd forgotten about them). This is all too characteristic of Trump's unique combination of cynicism and idiocy. And it remains all too bizarre that no matter the setting Pence seems like a failed Alpha version of the Star Trek, Next Generation character "Data".
Ack, just found out my neighbor, a doctor, went to the rally unmasked. His hospital just suspended him. I am literally next door to why we can’t have nice things.
MEADOWS, exiting, sotto voce: Everything was goin' fine 'till Grima Klantongue decided to start ululatin'. Jeeezus.
Maybe Meadows and Lainie are related?

"Is Morgana or even Lainie a 10?" The girls all get prettier at COVID time.
So, like, these Covid cuties are all perfect?
It's COVID time again
I'm gonna lose you

No lie.But it's how I feel.

If Donnie gets that video with Karen there'll be some ululatin' in the old town tonight!

Wife and I watching news footage of our nearest Virus Vectors for Freedumb rally:
Me: These people might not educable.
Wife: Holy fuck, is that [blank]?
Me: Who?
Wife: That woman, that's [blank], the Tea Party asshole.
Me: I think you're right.
Wife: That one, too, I know her. Big Tea Party lunatic.
Me: Yeah, I remember.
Wife: I think they're all Tea Party people.
Me: I think they're all bozos on that bus.
Wife: (serious side-eye) I know that means something to you, because you're old.
Me: Firesign Theater. You should listen to them some time.
Wife: Like I have time for your old hippy shit. The fucking Tea Party is back!
Me: Back? Where have they been the last three years?
Wife: I don't care, I just want them to go back there right now. Idiots, they're gonna get us all killed.
Me: More coffee, darlin'?
Wife: I am so glad she is not our neighbor anymore.
Condolences for any/all contact with those kind of people. (Sort of been there, done that.)

Where is this?
You said "educable" in conversation?
No thanks…I've seen enough.
(Someone can be both a darling and the warden.)
