Was Andrew Sullivan a consultant in the drafting of this new curriculum?

New Texas state motto: “A Caliper in Every Classroom.”

Now that's what I call good science!

Andrew's really worked so hard and done so much to give this movement a photographic woodgrain veneer of intellectual respectability that he really ought to be rewarded, perhaps with a series of Babe Ruth-like nicknames. You know, "The Caliph of Calipers" or "The Burgermeister of Skull Bumps" to go along with the traditional "Maharajah of Milky Loads".

As someone at LGM pointed out yesterday, Texas is the only political entity to secede TWICE in order to allow its White citizens to own Black people as chattel slaves. Texas broke off from Mexico when Mexico outlawed slavery, and sided with the treason states when it looked like America was heading the same way.

But take comfort in the fact that Texas, lead by ignorant and aggressive yahoos, selects the textbooks that the majority of American students use in school.

"Texas, lead by ignorant and aggressive yahoos" is basically all of America these days. At least California basically sets the admissions standards for the country, useless as that is at this point in our environmental degradation.

A lot of people complain about New Yorkers begin arrogant and obnoxious but I think Texans are worse. New York can at least back up it's braggadocious-ness. Texas is where it is at because of oil. Without it they are just a collection of the worse traits of Mississippi, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.

Any lingering myths about Texas were permanently destroyed when they let a bunch of their people freeze to death, all because they didn't want to be on the same power grid as the rest of us.

Does anything sum up America better in the 2020s than scare quotes around "murder" as it relates to George Floyd?

Probably not.

Shouldn't "scholars" in that first paragraph also have scare quotes? After all, it's not as if we were talking about real scholars such as Heather Mac Donald & Patrick Buchanan.

I was just thinking yesterday that what with our own unresolved issues with race on the policy level, maybe we can't be a credible broker for resolving the Israel/Palestine Mini Me replica of our own hate-supporting system. Saying that, my opinion there is ever shifting albeit within a narrow range.

No! Say it isn't so! I thought the reason the Americans struck back against the Nazis and Apartheid South Africa because they thought they were being made fun of, and you know it's not nice to tease America! How dare you burn our precious flaaag!

For this excellent work, you will be taken in the wee hours and indentured into a teaching position. Assume the position! Teach them kids something!

What ever will they teach the black students? Or will they all be expelled, imprisoned or “segregated” for educational heresy?

Well, that seems racist. Obviously, the Black kids need to learn about how slavery was an honorable profession too. All that work in the outdoors,

You know what? I can't. I'm starting to think pre-clearance should have extended *way* beyond voting laws.

They will be taught that "the science" justifies their over-representation in jails and prisons and under-representation in the wealth of America, and that there's nothing to be done about it. But they can still celebrate the accomplishment of the special few of their race that have overcome these limitations, like Michael Jordan!
