As I'm sure you remember, it wasn't all that long ago that conservatives were seriously arguing that slavery was GOOD for Black people because it was a really good deal. Free housing, free food, healthcare (!)--all of that in exchange for simply working. Who wouldn't want such a deal?

Well, except for the beatings, whippings, and permanent disfigurations. Other than that, it was a fantastic arrangement.

And maybe that part about your master selling off your kids. That might not have been so great. But the rest? Sweet deal!

And that part where your master rapes your wife, sister, and daughters repeatedly for years. But that was a small price to pay for what you got in return!

In fact, slavery was such a great thing for Black people that White people went out of their way to make sure Blacks remained as slaves. Even going so far as to wage the country's most costly war. That's how good a deal slavery was. Which is why so many White people want to bring it back today!

I look forward to future installments that bring us into today’s world, where we learn about the brave Anti-antiracists who try to educate the crazed SJW’s by explaining if they just put up with moderate, reasonable levels of racism, normal patriots would not be incited to reach KKK levels of racist hatred. Because common sense tells us that asking patriotic American racists to listen, learn, and change their opinions is an outlandish proposition destined not just to fail, but to backfire.

(If only someone had told, for example, Thomas Jefferson not to get high on his own supply, subsequent misunderstandings would have been avoided.)

In addition to slavery being our original sin, the 3/5 “compromise” is a moral and political abomination that haunts us to this day—and yet the literal and metaphorical descendants of the people who benefitted from it remain the most twisted, butthurt bigots on the planet.

Thank you, Byron for setting the record straight. And don't forget, Jefferson was only addressing his compatriots when he wrote, "Y'all men are created equal" in the Declaration, so it wasn't at all weird or anything that there were all these indentured servants around.

My sympathy to Roy for wading through the huge amount of sewage to channel the conservative bros' ability to pervert everything.

And props to the Times for their quarterly work actually worth shit. Of course, the pussies hedged by dumping the piece in the magazine section without a reference either prominently on the website or A1 and god knows (because I don't) where on the apps. Then again, I suppose the less prominence the less likely to set off the infantile POS POTUS who's stressed enough because Fox has the chutzpah to tell viewers that Donnie's doing shit in the polls. Maybe news that he's shitting on the economy is also bothering him.

Excellent history but surely you meant “lifelong companions” not “slaves.”

There's also the Newt Gingrich Gambit, for which he was justifiably roasted: https://twitter.com/EdgeofSports/status/1163084418984087553

Is this intended as self-parody or are these people just gleeful in their peculiarly cruel twisting of serious history? Do they feel safe because no one simply beats them into a disabled and humbled condition in our current society?
