Some of us remember Louie Gohmert calling AOC a "fucking bitch" to her face in front of reporters. Oddly, this produced no real outrage among the press or other Republicans.

Some of us remember Dick Cheney telling Senator Patrick Leahy "go fuck yourself" on the floor of the Senate. Oddly, this produced no real outrage among the press or other republicans.

Some of us remember Donald Trump on live national TV talking about Megan Kelly having "blood coming out of her wherever" while he called her "too emotional." Oddly and etc.

Some of us remember the Trump campaign "unofficially" adopting "Fuck Your Feelings" as its 2020 campaign slogan (and actually producing bumper stickers, window sticks, t-shirts, and hats with that slogan). Oddly and etc.

But it's always and forever the Democrats who are just soooooo uncivil, who must--simply MUST--reach out to Republicans, understand Republicans, compromise and accommodate.

Thanks for the F bombs! What a great Xmas gift! (Although this is what I want nearly as much: https://teespring.com/all-i-got-was-covid19?tsmac=store&tsmic=the-good-liars&pid=934&cid=103880)

And I have to say, calling them fuckers was a bit of a cop out. What the fuckers are are scumbags and, more precisely, traitors who have worked for decades into turning the US into a failed state as I keep saying ad nauseam. Calling them fuckers, among other failings in the use of the word, creates an image of people actually fucking the fuckers. *shiver!!*

So, no, I don't approve of Dillon calling them fuckers. Nor her walking back doing so unless it's to describe them as I did above.

And always re: those people: Fuck their feelings.

Ah yes, the return of Stop Being Rude While We Kill People whining by conservatives. As predictable as the sun rising in the morning.

The conservative calls for civility, like their renewed concern about the deficit, is the surest sign they’ve finally accepted Biden’s victory.

You're channelling the Rude Pundit in the best possible way.

I am of also of the opinion that her apology should have consisted of "Fuck you, motherfuckers. Fuck all the way off into the sun."

Why should dems have to be civil when our outrage over Derp Fuhrer's criminal syndicate could power the world for the next 20 years?

Personally, I'm to the point where I smile any time I read the word ''Republican'' in an obituary, so I can definitely relate.

Fuck them with knobs on, to quote Bertie Wooster. People really need to stop falling for this con. The reactionaries have been pulling this dodge for at least forty years.

Demanding we be civil is just another way of seizing power. My kids pointed this out to me several years ago.

The Rethugs have done so many obscene things that calling them “fuckers” doesn’t even scratch the surface.

I wondered how long it would take the media to revert to type, and how long it would take the bubble to let the offender know that they had to make nice and apologize.

I am reminded of that great quote by Talleyrand : “They had learned nothing and forgotten nothing.” I think it was originally about the Bourbons, which of course makes it even more apt.

We are so fucked.

KOrrect RoyGonzo. Bartcop used to rage over and over on the same issue, e.g.

"Obama is the weakest president of my lifetime. They say Democrats are attacking his $450B stimulus because there's no downside to attacking him. His three biggest mistakes?

He always surrenders early - every f-ing time. All you have to do is wait and he'll cave in. How pathetically weak.

His idiotic insistence on "looking forward" is another sign of weakness.

Right after winning, he said Kissyface [forget who that was] could keep his committee posts, which spells out... "No matter how savagely you attack me, I'll never attack you."

That taught every Rethug and every Democrat that he will NEVER fight, no matter what."

Dear old Bart despaired at Democrats insistence on bipartisanship when all the while the GOP were ratf*cking them.

I do acknowledge that they're trying to avoid giving the mad right an excuse to start serious violent destabilization of the country but caving on every issue isn't the answer.

Fuckin' beautiful. Think of all the words Dillon didn't call them. Like seditionists, traitors, hatemongers, disloyal phony Americans, or the "president's" favorite -- "human scum," all accurate. Had she used one of these or countless others, it wouldn't have percolated from deep within a Vogue magazine interview, and the Kayleighs of the world wouldn't have said a word. Of course, had Dillon pointed out that Kayleigh's burgeoning false eyelashes are getting into Tammy Faye territory, now -that- would have been uncivil.

In case anyone's missed it, here's what Dillon actually said, in the context everyone ignores:

"The president-elect was able to connect with people over this sense of unity. In the primary, people would mock him, like, “You think you can work with Republicans?” I’m not saying they’re not a bunch of fuckers. Mitch McConnell is terrible. But this sense that you couldn’t wish for that, you couldn’t wish for this bipartisan ideal? He rejected that. From start to finish, he set out with this idea that unity was possible, that together we are stronger, that we, as a country, need healing, and our politics needs that too."
