Michelle Obama wore a dress with bare shoulders, and right-thinking people were aghast that she would show so much [Black] skin. She also wore short-sleeved blouses, and this was cause for much wailing and gnashing of teeth because her arms were not flabby. Well do I remember these things.

Yet, Melania Trump can visit children in cages while wearing a coat that declares she doesn't care. No big deal. And you can find actual pornography of her from before her marriage to Trump because she was an aspiring porn actress. This, too, is no big deal.

But I'm sure we'll discover that Jill Biden once wore shorts on a hot summer day; that her PhD dissertation is not valid because she used words other people have used--words such as "and" and "the" and "of" which clearly makes it a plagiarized work; that whatever causes she decides to support will be just some elitist bullshit like feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, or housing the homeless.

Can you imagine the right wing outrage if a First Lady were to ever suggest she didn’t want to bake cookies?

Apparently, calling Republicans "fuckers" is a lot worse that modifying Christmas with "fucking."

Can I just remind everybody that fucking DONALD TRUMP, an asshole who owned beauty contests, including ones for teenagers, was also in soft core porn? "Cameo", whatever, and believe me when I'm grateful we didn't have to see his dick, but THE MAN WAS LITERALLY IN PORN. Fuck those people on the right, I couldn't run for fucking city council because I'm an ex hooker with naked pictures out there, many of them of me underage and absolutely not my fucking idea, but we all know it'd be disqualifying if I was doing anything other than, apparently, saying I was sold to Tom Hanks as a sex slave. IOKIYAR used to be a bitter joke. Now it's treason, and fuck the fuckers who want to be mad about swear words.

Obscenity is worse than profanity. Obscenity hurts people. It is a sin. It's not bad words and naked pictures, it's kids in cages and families being evicted during a pandemic--and they are, despite moratoriums--because six hundred bucks is literally the least McConnell thinks he needs to do in order to get people to forget their dead and vote their racism in Georgia so he can go back to not giving even that much of a shit.

I hate all of these people. Getting Trump out of office just reminds me how much they wanted him, because he gave them permission to be the worst people they can be, which is apparently all they ever wanted.

"Six hundred dollars? Are you fuckers fuckin' kiddin' me?"

You've got my vote for city council, D. Although I'd prefer a statewide or national office. My pitch for a campaign slogan: "Get the Ex-Hookers Outta the Residence and Into the Oval!"

"IOKIYAR used to be a bitter joke" is right. The issue with letting some people live by an alternate, easier set of rules is that they get used to it and think it's the natural order rather than a lucky break, and go nuts when you try to take it away.

The top two stories on NRO today were by some moist cumsock called Kyle Smith, and both headlines called Dr. Biden's dissertation "garbage." That's not counting a THIRD story he also wrote about the subject. Nothing gets these fellas' dicks harder than when they're raging at a woman on the left.

I'm sure they're beating it to Vanity Fair photos of AOC while mumbling "fuck you you fucking bitch."

To all of those churlish, boil-brained miscreants: may your shits have antlers.

This disquisition is what I needed this morning.

Some of us remember Louie Gohmert calling AOC a "fucking bitch" to her face in front of reporters. Oddly, this produced no real outrage among the press or other Republicans.

Some of us remember Dick Cheney telling Senator Patrick Leahy "go fuck yourself" on the floor of the Senate. Oddly, this produced no real outrage among the press or other republicans.

Some of us remember Donald Trump on live national TV talking about Megan Kelly having "blood coming out of her wherever" while he called her "too emotional." Oddly and etc.

Some of us remember the Trump campaign "unofficially" adopting "Fuck Your Feelings" as its 2020 campaign slogan (and actually producing bumper stickers, window sticks, t-shirts, and hats with that slogan). Oddly and etc.

But it's always and forever the Democrats who are just soooooo uncivil, who must--simply MUST--reach out to Republicans, understand Republicans, compromise and accommodate.

I wish you would post this for the Miss Manners brigade that appeared in the TPM comments. You know, the Dems so civil butter wouldn’t melt in their mouths, who wail that this loss of decorum is going to cancel the next Come, Let Us Reason Together sleepover.

Almost as bad are the ones who clap brittlely that caving and walking back the comment was “perfect” and somehow “made her point” without “providing Republicans ammunition” (like Repugs never just made up ammunition if they didn’t have any). I don’t know what Too Clever By Half reality those people live in, but I’m sick of having to calm their jangled nerves every time a Republican has a hissy fit. Good for Roy. And good for you.

And I have to say, calling them fuckers was a bit of a cop out. What the fuckers are are scumbags and, more precisely, traitors who have worked for decades into turning the US into a failed state as I keep saying ad nauseam. Calling them fuckers, among other failings in the use of the word, creates an image of people actually fucking the fuckers. *shiver!!*

So, no, I don't approve of Dillon calling them fuckers. Nor her walking back doing so unless it's to describe them as I did above.

And always re: those people: Fuck their feelings.

I'm just saying, if she'd said "motherfuckers", she would have both been more accurate and avoided your issue, because republicans fuck things. They just don't get consent first.

Ah yes, the return of Stop Being Rude While We Kill People whining by conservatives. As predictable as the sun rising in the morning.

The conservative calls for civility, like their renewed concern about the deficit, is the surest sign they’ve finally accepted Biden’s victory.

You're channelling the Rude Pundit in the best possible way.

I am of also of the opinion that her apology should have consisted of "Fuck you, motherfuckers. Fuck all the way off into the sun."

Why should dems have to be civil when our outrage over Derp Fuhrer's criminal syndicate could power the world for the next 20 years?

I wondered how long it would take the media to revert to type, and how long it would take the bubble to let the offender know that they had to make nice and apologize.

I am reminded of that great quote by Talleyrand : “They had learned nothing and forgotten nothing.” I think it was originally about the Bourbons, which of course makes it even more apt.

KOrrect RoyGonzo. Bartcop used to rage over and over on the same issue, e.g.

"Obama is the weakest president of my lifetime. They say Democrats are attacking his $450B stimulus because there's no downside to attacking him. His three biggest mistakes?

He always surrenders early - every f-ing time. All you have to do is wait and he'll cave in. How pathetically weak.

His idiotic insistence on "looking forward" is another sign of weakness.

Right after winning, he said Kissyface [forget who that was] could keep his committee posts, which spells out... "No matter how savagely you attack me, I'll never attack you."

That taught every Rethug and every Democrat that he will NEVER fight, no matter what."

Dear old Bart despaired at Democrats insistence on bipartisanship when all the while the GOP were ratf*cking them.

I do acknowledge that they're trying to avoid giving the mad right an excuse to start serious violent destabilization of the country but caving on every issue isn't the answer.

Thanks. Was "Kissyface" a Democrat or a Republican?

If I recall correctly it was Weepin' Joe Lieberman, so... both?

fritz7784 is on the money, it was the consummately awful Mr. Lieberman. Bart's rage was implacable on so many issue but the failure of the Democratic party to call out and stand up to GOP bullies drove him to despair.

I'm still waiting for someone to punch Joe Wilson.

I was a loyal Bartcop reader right to the end. I still mourn his passing. And, yeah--Bartcop was enraged at the pathetic weakness Democrats displayed. He was consistently livid at Patrick Leahy's refusal to hold hearings over the Bush admin's many crimes, and over Leahy's eagerness to allow Republicans to blue-slip every Obama judicial nomination.

Fuckin' beautiful. Think of all the words Dillon didn't call them. Like seditionists, traitors, hatemongers, disloyal phony Americans, or the "president's" favorite -- "human scum," all accurate. Had she used one of these or countless others, it wouldn't have percolated from deep within a Vogue magazine interview, and the Kayleighs of the world wouldn't have said a word. Of course, had Dillon pointed out that Kayleigh's burgeoning false eyelashes are getting into Tammy Faye territory, now -that- would have been uncivil.

In case anyone's missed it, here's what Dillon actually said, in the context everyone ignores:

"The president-elect was able to connect with people over this sense of unity. In the primary, people would mock him, like, “You think you can work with Republicans?” I’m not saying they’re not a bunch of fuckers. Mitch McConnell is terrible. But this sense that you couldn’t wish for that, you couldn’t wish for this bipartisan ideal? He rejected that. From start to finish, he set out with this idea that unity was possible, that together we are stronger, that we, as a country, need healing, and our politics needs that too."
