Ach! We've got to get out of this trap, before this decadence saps our wills. I've got to be strong, and try to hang on, or else my mind may well *snap*! And my life... will be lived... for the thrillllllllllls

Could be extended almost to the crack of doom. "Dear friends, tomorrow is Thanksgiving, a day when it is traditional for us to join with loved ones in giving thanks for the blessings we have received in life. But for many Americans, that chance will never come: because Hillary Clinton had them murdered, to cover up her corruption..."

"Dear Friends: A holiday season special to most Americans starts this week. But because of Hillary Clinton Americans are groaning as oppressed prisoners of the War on Christmas. We need you to give generously to Tulsi Gabbard, so she can plan her counterattack and free America. . ."

"Dear Friends: New Year's Day is when we think of new hopes, new dreams, and the opportunity to turn over a new leaf, to resolve that we will become better people. But unless Hillary is able to summon up remorse for her many crimes, her soul will remain forever dead, and not even the horcruxes she created in her dark attempts at immortality will preserve her..."

When Hillary dies, who will the Republicns and Tulsi run against? Or maybe they'll just claim that she faked her death and went into hiding, like Hitler or Elvis.

Read her own words, Tulsi is someone none of us knows. She's a cult survivor, limits her advisers to those she knows (and know one else knows them so SCARY!).

No, she has not been publicly vetted. She needs at least thirty minutes on Sixty Minutes to be pressed about her cult upbringing, her ties to Modi, her thoughts on Syria (CBS might not get to that question), and what's up with the adviser in the NW she sends money to even though he doesn't have a Beltway zip code?

I look forward to learning this stuff. But until then, the criticisms of Gabbard seem pale compared to her actual record and actual words. She strikes me as very interesting, and a patriot. She's obviously grown and appears to be someone who has not closed their mind.

I want to know more about her. And yes, I've been given and have read ALL the sleazy links (whatever you got that I ain't read, it's the same shit). ON NOES! She talks to people we don't like. She has friends we don't know! She says stuff that people want to hear!!!!!!!!!!! But mostly, people don't seem to be looking at what we know closely enough. Read her speeches. Read them critically. She keeps her cards close to her vest and she never seems to have actually said what people say she says. She's a skilled politician, worthy of respect, maybe even our votes.

And who would say no to Secy of Defense Gabbard? If only to smell the stench of soiled lobbyists pants.

If watching Trump and Trump voters has taught me anything, it's that even a fucking moron and delusional con man can occasionally give a halfway decent speech promising people things they want. Not interested in any more goddamned speeches, thanks. Watch what they do.

And, really, we have plenty of candidates, I'm not taking a long shot on Gabbard, Yang, Williamson, Booker, Castro, O'Rourke, Steyer or Buttigieg. They can all go sit on the bench with Bennet, Bullock, Ryan, and Inslee. And I've fucking *met* Inslee. He's a decent guy with good priorities and reasonable experience and great ideas, but I didn't support him for president because he wasn't going to make it through the primaries and even he knew that.

Gabbard has so much territory to make up to even get to "sort of household name" that she will not win, regardless of what you think about her policies. And while we may deplore the fact that the pool of candidates is pre-selected by a number of factors including "household name" and "loads of money", it's still the world we have to live in. There were almost thirty candidates to start with, and does anyone really believe they're the only thirty people in this country who would make decent presidents or are better at governing and diplomacy than Trump?

Give me a magic wand, and I wouldn't make *any* of those people president, for various reasons. I don't need to spend hours in a deep dive to see if I agree with Gabbard (and, really, I don't, on a lot of things, policy-wise, I'd be a Yang fan if I didn't know he can't do most of what he says he wants to, even if he tries, which is not a given.) because she's not going to be the candidate. I'm prepared to ignore her. Maybe in another four years she'll have enough of a chance that I'll look at her again then.

I realize that kind of thing is depressing, hell, even I'm depressed by the practicalities of our two party Citizens United system, but "Whether candidates polling at ten percent or less are getting in-depth interviews that show you who they really are" is not on my priority list. We couldn't even get the fuckers to show us who Donald Trump actually is, and he was on my TV more often than Law & Order reruns.

Sucks, but there it is.

Third party would not work for her. Her inner group is too small and I don't think she could scale up to mount a credible campaign and I can't see her leading a charge of a lightweight brigade into any valleys of electoral death.

What exactly are Tulsi's positions?

The website is progressive, the voting record, at least of late, mostly not voting. She seems awfully squirrelly even by a pol's standards (so to speak).

As for her position on military interventions, etc., they sound great but anyone expecting them to get put into actual practice is naive. Not happening until the masses rise up.

Whatever her positions, this isn't the time. Specially after that idiotic remark about impeachment tearing the nation apart. The nation's already torn apart and, not to be to blunt, any POTUS wannabe who believes that relentless, endless lawbreaking by a POTUS is acceptable can go fuck themselves.

The tribune of treasonous terpsichore, the princess of pusillanimous posturing, the baroness of bathetic braggadocio; the alliterative epithets are really funny. Tulsi is much stranger than even Marianne Williamson.
