When you get them all together in a room like that you can really understand that America is truly the land of opportunity. In America, any worthless piece of shit can become rich and famous without a lot of hard work.
The good Dr. had a complete functioning soul. Jones and the rest of this bunch have mewling, half formed mutant souls - like something from a David Lynch film.
Alex Jones is like the distilled, highest potency incarnation of MAGA: I’m going to lie about your children being murdered, sic my fans on you to harass you for years, and then whine when I face consequences for my actions.
LOL at Tulsi Gabbard. When she announced she was leaving the Democratic Party, I felt as puzzled as I did when Andrew Yang left to create his “new” political party: you were ever a Democrat? It’s sort of like if I stuck my hand inside my shirt and called myself Napoleon: I wouldn’t expect anyone to really buy it, and when I declared, “OK, I’m not Napoleon anymore” I wouldn’t expect anyone to do more than roll their eyes and shrug.
Actually, my obsession is that I fall into a swoon whenever I listen to her. As soon as the clip or whatever is over, I realize how completely full of shit she is and snap out of it.
I'm conflicted. I know full what and where Elba is, and I shouldn't want to fuck off there, not at all. But then the word "Idris" floats through my consciousness.
Eventually Napoleon had to fuck off to St. Helena as Elba was a pretty sweet deal for Ole Nap. Treated as a former emperor, and near France it was pretty easy to escape
"I guarantee if I died ten years ago and someone said I wasn’t really dead, my parents wouldn’t act all psycho and go to court. They wouldn’t give a shit."
Finally someone has captured the essence of what Glenn Greenwald saw when he praised Jones as “handsome” and “charismatic”. Now if you could depict how some think of Greenwald as “smart.”
Jones... Last I recall -- and we know how crappy my ability to recall is -- InfoWars is under the control of a bankruptcy court. If so, that can be a long term problem for Jones. OTOH, no doubt if these Sandy Hook cases somehow reach SCOTUS, the GOP junta there will rule that the suits violated Jones' 1A rights so who knows.
I don't hope for much, except that anytime Alex Jones pulls out his wallet to buy a coffee, Blue-Haired Lawyer from the Simpsons is there to take the wallet from Jones, extract every single bill, and then hand the empty wallet back. Oh, and Jones never gets his coffee.
FWIW, the voice, the way she speaks and the white streak is what does it -- again til she’s done and the fever breaks over the idiocy of what she just said.
Arden does nothing. But the party girl PM of Finland... I forgive the politics but by definition, as an actual leader, she puts her money (and possibly intoxicants) where her mouth is, unlike Tulsi or ever.
Note Jones plowed his poisoned seed in a well prepared field: the paranoid gun humpers had been claiming "false flag" for mass shootings for years. Either the government/Dark Agenda/Hillary had ordered a program of using the brainwashed to actually kill people (because we *know* responsible American Gun owners never misuse their arms) to create an anti gun climate, or Sandy Hook was faked.
It synced with the whole "They hate us and want us weak: so we need the biggest guns to shoot Them", who as Roy has frequently noted, were generally of color, and urban.
He said in the trial he was afraid gun owners would be blamed for Sandy Hook, et. all, and he wanted to protect their rights, so he questioned, and loosed his flying monkeys on the parents and law enforcement.
The twitter machine informs me he was on Infowars last PM saying he would never pay a cent.
Not guilty - remember, Alex had a default guilty verdict against him, because he couldn't be bothered to provide documents he had three years to assemble.
Of course, "defending" entails shooting ethnic folks, Democrats, Antifa, protesters, liberals, socialists, immigrants, government agents, and government officials, but MAH FREEDUMS!
It is interesting that SCOTUS just ruled a defendant had no right to a new trial bc of incompetent counsel... bc that seems to have been Jones' intended ploy. What competent attorney would allow his client to go on media & defame the judge in hs own trial -- much less contunue to make statements that just show a will to re-offend?
Fortunately, the right to counsel isn’t applicable to civil cases. Unless, of course, SCOTUS embraces yet another novel legal theory like “the Sovereign Dignitude of the Several States (h/t Scott LeMieux)” to gut the VRA, or the chicken they’re fucking to vitiate delegation of power to the executive, to suddenly discover that wait! the Constitution DOES afford the right to effective counsel in civil cases!

This makes me wonder what happens when Dominion Voting Systems takes possession of Fox News. Do they run the business as a going concern, in which case they become the problem themselves, or do they liquidate? A liquidated fake-news channel can't be worth much once you've sold off all the cameras, I don't know anyone in the market for a giant curvy couch, especially one that smells like Steve Doocy's ass.
I think FNC has enough money to pay the judgment, if it is so ordered, entered and docketed onto the judgment rolls, without filing any petition for relief under the bankruptcy code. Even a billion-dollar judgment wouldn’t necessarily render it insolvent. It’s likely Fox and Dominion would settle on amount to pay and satisfy the judgment. And a receivership, where the judgment creditor takes control and possession of the judgment debtor’s assets, isn’t inevitable.
Sidney Powell and her pathetic, obsequious, co-defendants who don’t have deep pockets are going to go through some things (h/t TFG).

Then, one day, someone will ask "Whatever happened to...what’s his name? You know, the one who was so big...the number one fella a couple of years ago. He was famous, how can we forget a name like that?"
When you get them all together in a room like that you can really understand that America is truly the land of opportunity. In America, any worthless piece of shit can become rich and famous without a lot of hard work.
Dr. Faustus might disagree with the idea that giving away your soul doesn’t entail hard work.
The good Dr. had a complete functioning soul. Jones and the rest of this bunch have mewling, half formed mutant souls - like something from a David Lynch film.
I don't know being constantly enraged has got to require some sort of hard work.
Maybe it comes naturally to some people?
It must be exhausting being a frontline worker in the project of keeping the epistemic bubble inflated.
Pump HARDER!
Just like the Founding Fathers envisioned and fought a war for.
All of them, together, in a single room. You know, you could solve a lot of problems right there, if you know what I mean, in Minecraft.
But I know the GOP is HYDRA. Cut off one head, and two more grift in its place.
👍🏻
Unfortunately, in our country there is a vast supply of both grifters and griftees.
"When you get them all together in a room like that you can really understand that America is truly the land of opportunity."
If ever there was a time for the Mother Of All Bombs (MOAB). . .

Now I'm'a picturing Tulsi joining Forward.
Tulsi's Adventures With The Vorwartspartei
Nah, she's gonna go for those sweet, sweet Fox bucks.
Actually, my obsession is that I fall into a swoon whenever I listen to her. As soon as the clip or whatever is over, I realize how completely full of shit she is and snap out of it.
Which is to say, I really don’t care about her.
Yeah right. You'll be hanging the poster in your workshop.
I did that thing with my hand in my shirt and everybody told me to fuck off to Elba. I finally broke that habit of scratching my armpits in public.
LOL. I may steal that and tell the next person who annoys me to "fuck off to Elba." It sounds both vaguely menacing AND inscrutable, a twofer.
I'm conflicted. I know full what and where Elba is, and I shouldn't want to fuck off there, not at all. But then the word "Idris" floats through my consciousness.
Sigh -- I hear you.
OK, equal opps an' all 'at:
Down girls!
Able was I ere I fucked off to Elba.
All y'all havin' too much fun. But thanks for explication re: exactly how does one GET to Elba...
That's because you don't know your ass from your Elba.
Truth! At last!
Oh, you've never seen a family move through the Five Stages of Grief so quickly. "Why, we're finished with Bargaining, and it's only lunchtime!"
This just in:
https://www.theatlantic.com/science/archive/2022/10/five-stages-complicated-grief-wrong/671710/
Science says the 5 stages are not a real thing. Wells Fargo has a sad.
Right, we aren’t in the least bit surprised.
Finally someone has captured the essence of what Glenn Greenwald saw when he praised Jones as “handsome” and “charismatic”. Now if you could depict how some think of Greenwald as “smart.”
Has Bari Weiss weighed in yet on the threat this poses for free speech?
They only want speech that's free 'cause they are too cheap to pay for it. The essence of freedom is the abatement of personal cost.
His sense of who’s good looking is completely defective, anyway.
Is that your legal opinion, sir? Speak slowly and clearly into the mic - er, flower arrangement.
Poindexters
2 marks!
Ohhhh, Tulsi.......!!! 😳😬😄😆👏🏻❤️❤️❤️
Where was I? Tulsi has an effect on me...
But Tulllsiiiii!!!
Down, boy!
I'm reminded that when/if I ever thought of her/them it was to cheerfully accept, and to enjoy the fact of her/their weirdness.

De gustibus and all that, but the pulchritude of Ms. Gabbard escapes me.
Now, New Zealand PM Ardern, rawr.
Now that's a "Scene We'd Like to See".

I'm impressed with the jurors, who knew better than anyone what happens when the flying monkeys are sent after you, and still voted guilty.
Well Jones is right – we DO blame the gun owners (mere et/ou fils).
Not guilty - remember, Alex had a default guilty verdict against him, because he couldn't be bothered to provide documents he had three years to assemble.
"we *know* responsible American Gun owners never misuse their arms"
No True Scotsman, etc.
They just use their guns to defend themselves!
Of course, "defending" entails shooting ethnic folks, Democrats, Antifa, protesters, liberals, socialists, immigrants, government agents, and government officials, but MAH FREEDUMS!

Yeah, sounds about right, based on recent statements from that clown car masquerading as the arbiter of the gummint...
the Constitution DOES afford the right to effective counsel in [certain] civil cases!
FTFY
He was fake laughing about how "broke" he was on his show last weekend. He really thinks the bankruptcy scam is going to work in his behalf.
I'o speak for all of us when I say Thank You for your sacrifice (sitting thru his show so we do not have to).
Dea ex machina

I was gonna heart, then I read the last line, and, nah, not goin' there...
I wrote that by starting at Steve Doocy's ass and working backwards.
Better you than me...

Sorry if my lawsplainin’ is tedious.
"Sorry if my lawsplainin’ is tedious."
My only complaint is "Hey, tedious is MY job!"
Tulsi Time!
(Reminder that Father Coughlin died alone and in obscurity after his national platform was taken away from him.)
Then, one day, someone will ask "Whatever happened to...what’s his name? You know, the one who was so big...the number one fella a couple of years ago. He was famous, how can we forget a name like that?"

Wow, why u gotta hate on Manqueman like that?
Hate? I see "Tulsi Gabbard dressed as Wonder Woman" as an early Christmas present.
To him? Or you? :)
Hey, only one of us has a Tulsi fixation. My kink is Elizabeth Warren, explaining her proposed Wealth Tax, using some VERY detailed charts and graphs.
Graphs showing Worker vs CEO compensation, explained in the voice of Eartha Kitt
June Allyson reads Das Kapital
I'm just grateful you didn't say "very detailed graphics and charts" 'cause this is a family stack.
Jerry Lewis reads Arthur Laffer
She'd look a lot like American Maid from "The Tick".
The only tick I am pleased to be reminded of.
Committee Resolution 1. No sense starting small.
