That's it, he's cracked it: have a gun-sniffing dog stationed at the ONE door through which everyone enters or leaves the school. Thank you, Mr. Mayor lmao.
LOL -- Ted Cruz's "One Door In" policy has pretty much been SOP for any secured site since forever, & widely practiced at schools, office buildings, & hospitals at least since Columbine. And when I guest-taught at a Camden high school back in 2014, that one entrance had a security officer & a metal detector, which bottle-necked the start of classes something fierce.
So of course, Cruz latches onto it as an invisible solution.
Fucking Paul Gosar is now telling his slavering masses that the Uvalde shooter was both a leftist & transgender...
Excuse me, that's leftist, transgender ILLEGAL ALIEN. Get your non-facts straight.
And Trump must be kicking himself for "Biden wants UN bureaucrats to take away your Second Amendment rights" when he could have gone with "Biden wants leftist transgendered illegal alien UN bureaucrats to take away your Second Amendment rights." When you're making right-wing word salad, you can never throw too many ingredients into the bowl.
The UN coming for your guns is a golden oldie that always plays well. Fifteen years ago when I was working night flight operations for the local cargo airline, I'd get frantic calls about the black helicopters landing at the airport. The Vermont National Guard helicopter unit likes to use our airport to practice night operations, so every Tuesday and Thursday night, we'd have helicopters in the traffic pattern with only their extremely dim infrared formation lights on. This would freak out the locals, who would then call the only number the airport had and get me on the line. "Are those Chinese UN helicopters?!?!?!" was a frequent question.
Apparently a door designed to keep active shooters out of classrooms. Shooters know what the plans are now. They grew up with them. There's no way to stop this that includes leaving guns in the hands of random citizens.
Considering most of 'em are racist and extremely remedial on the subject of the civil rights of, say, teenage girls, it's hard to imagine how this goes wrong. It's a really broad list of waiting catastrophes.
I am reminded by twitter that school shooters have now grown up with active shooter drills in their schools. Considering most school shooters are the proverbial Schrodinger's Guy With A Gun until they actually start killing people, what's to stop them from becoming school resource officers?
Highly amused. Echoes so much of what a fucking moron pandering to imbeciles and/or sociopathic he always is.
And, as always, such condolences as I’m capable of mustering to Roy for channeling the Trumpshit. As the nation further collapses into some un-democratic state, we’ll surely still have the freedom to mock our leaders. Maybe even disrespect them to their faces when they show themselves in public (unless there’s a good man with a gun ready to protect them).
Holy shit, MAYOR? I need this to be a joke so much that I don't think I can even risk looking it up. Is this an unwarranted attack on the citizens of NYC? Yes, but also Rudy.
I did look it up after the history lesson reassured me. I am reasonably certain NYC would not elect Trump to dog catcher, and wisely so, but again, there was that whole thing with Rudy.
Yesterday, Mrs. Derelict and I flew to the tiny municipal airport in Gardner, MA. After poking around the empty airport, we climbed back in our little airplane to fly back home. We had to wait for a bit while another airplane came in to land. I watched in awe as a really ratty Cessna 150 touched down and rolled past us on the runway. On the tail of this thing, the owner had taped foot-high letters "MAGA." On both sides of the nose was a caricature-style sticker of Donald Trump. Along the fuselage just above the registration numbers was "BUILD THE WALL."
I cannot believe a functioning adult would festoon their aircraft with such shit. But, then, he's a MAGA man, so both "functioning" and "adult" are questionable.
After the Great Boat Parades of 2020, can't wait to see how many of these morons die in midair collisions in 2024 when they try to organize the Plane Parades.
The "I don't even read names at wedding receptions, even if they pay extra" bit is, if not something Trump has said aloud, a core tenet of his soul, which should give you some idea what that's like.
National media now pivoting to talking about the police response in Uvalde ‘cause we need to blame someone besides the gun profiteers and ammosexuals. The NRA convention should have been treated like NAMBLA or the National Necrophilia Association.
Yep, can't say, "Dead children shot up so bad they had to get forensic ID to know who they were," since that reveals the full horror of the effects of these weapons, or "Victims killed in first minutes had no chance no matter how many police were there" because that challenges the idea that these massacres can be prevented in any way other than banning said weapons. So critique the police response because that perpetuates the myth the Republicans want, that there's something to blame besides the fucking guns.
It seems that the issues concerning the police response is simply pointing out that another prong of our authoritarian mind set ain't working for most of us. 40% of their city's budget on the cops and they won't do anything they are actually paid to do.
It seems to be part and parcel of the "Everybody Gets A Gun" thing. Doesn't seem to me that pointing out the one takes away from the other.
Well you're right there, I should have remembered that since it screwed over a case of mine back in 1985. What I should have said was what people THINK cops are actually paid to do.
The great thing about the GOP response is to block or oppose everything needed to reduce this crap: affordable, available mental healthcare for one; less extractive economic policies so kids don’t grow up without adult supervision; maybe restoring the assault rifle ban. Of course, SCOTUS would block any such effort; still.
All I know is, this happens at my school, I'm not fucking around. I'm dialing 911 right away, and telling them I saw a Black man with an expired license and registration. I don't like to lie, but this is life and death.
Trump reading the names of the Robb school victims complete with tolling bells AT AN NRA CONFERENCE has to be one of the more obscene post-massacre moments of all time. Almost as bad as his thumbs-up photo-op at the El Paso medical center with the infant just orphaned by a white supremacist inspired by Trump himself.
"The Democrats won’t tell you any of this because they want your kids to get killed instead of theirs."
That's because Democrats are all pedos, and these are the kids they pedo-fied. Dead pedo-fied kids can't talk, am I right? They can't talk. Or sue, which is like, worse.
Had to look him up so they succeeded. But then he didn't have a death toll. There are so many AR-15 well-regulated celebrations that it's hard to remember more than a handful. Like Devin Patrick Kelley in Sutherland Springs.... you guessed it... Texas.
Heartwarming story on the news yesterday about an AR-15 owner who handed in his gun at the police station, saying "I don't want this any more." He saw photos of the shooting victims, and one of them bore an uncanny resemblance to one of his own grandchildren. And that's all it took. We're still working on what to do with the AR-15 owners who don't have grandchildren, or do have grandchildren who, unfortunately, do not resemble recent school-shooting victims, but baby steps, right?
"when I was Mayor" is inspired. You can hear Trump think, "If Bloomberg can be Mayor, I could be, too." Not only would his audience believe it, so would he.
Now I'm wondering if the speech made any reference to the fact he actually has been President. One quote I read, "I'd be so tough on violent crime", as if he hadn't been President for four years already and done nothing about violent crime except encourage the White-on-Black variety of it. Will he have the nerve to run in 2024 as if it's all his first time, promising to build a wall and make Mexico pay for it? I don't know how you can simultaneously claim to have the Presidency stolen from you while acting as if you never were President in the first place, but if anyone can manage it, Trump can.
Well, I suppose technically he thinks he had it stolen in 2020, and anything before that (like his actual 4 years in office) doesn't count. But your main point is exactly right: If only people would elect him in 2024, he'd be able to DO something.
"But, sir, you already had four years to do something."
"I don't want to talk about the past. I want to talk about the future."
That's it, he's cracked it: have a gun-sniffing dog stationed at the ONE door through which everyone enters or leaves the school. Thank you, Mr. Mayor lmao.

"Chinese UN helicopters" is almost charmingly coherent. If it was happening today, I assume they'd be pedo CRT-copters.
Excuse me! Those helicopters would be blue! The black ones are... not the UN.
The black ones are Black Copters Matter -- the airborne division of Black Lives Matter
Why would he care? He can change gears anytime and no one will notice.
Or care, they love their Donnie so.
I’m so old, I remember that one of Uvalde’s finest’s problems was… a locked door.
Apparently a door designed to keep active shooters out of classrooms. Shooters know what the plans are now. They grew up with them. There's no way to stop this that includes leaving guns in the hands of random citizens.
They won't stop until every unemployed gun enthusiast in the country is getting paid to fondle his AR in front of schoolkids.
Considering most of 'em are racist and extremely remedial on the subject of the civil rights of, say, teenage girls, it's hard to imagine how this goes wrong. It's a really broad list of waiting catastrophes.

"Ya wanna touch it?" gets said ten minutes after one of these mooks starts work.

Actually, I’m not sure he’s not losing his marbles. (I mean IRL, not Roy’s Tubby.) Sure, hard to tell…
Highly amused. Echoes so much of what a fucking moron pandering to imbeciles and/or sociopathic he always is.

Ha ha, good one, Roy!
(Periodic reminder that no NYC mayor has ever been elected President of these here United States, but a mayor of Buffalo *has*.)
Had to look that up. Grover Cleveland.
I prefer to think that the real reason was because he was our only president born in NJ.
Donnie was never mayor.
I did look it up after the history lesson reassured me. I am reasonably certain NYC would not elect Trump to dog catcher, and wisely so, but again, there was that whole thing with Rudy.

Roy, now you're just a mere reporter —
Honestly, I thought he made up the part about Trump reading the names of the victims, because that's just too fucked-up to be real. What a fool I am.
In the media's defense, said police response seems to have been unusually shitty.
Everything But The Gun

SCOTUS has ruled that police are not required to risk their lives/help others/protect and serve
Well you're right there, I should have remembered that since it screwed over a case of mine back in 1985. What I should have said was what people THINK cops are actually paid to do.

Make sure you mention he was selling loose cigarettes and asking for change for a fake $20.
Hold on, I just want a prompt police response, I'm not calling in an airstrike.
2 marks!
No; *documented* shitty. Without documentation, the lies are treated like gospel.
Midnight Rambler is a fitting coda.

When you've effectively memoryholed Edgar Maddison Welch, you can do things like that.
Had to look him up so they succeeded. But then he didn't have a death toll. There are so many AR-15 well-regulated celebrations that it's hard to remember more than a handful. Like Devin Patrick Kelley in Sutherland Springs.... you guessed it... Texas.

He is rude, ignorant and ugly . You know he's got that stale urine/ rotten teeth old man smell.
How he made it to 70 without someone beating his ass dead amazes
me.
'They don‘t tell you things'=='You never listen'

I didn't hear the shameless psychopath's speech. (I did see his little tap dance after he read the names.)
So I'm assuming this is a transcript of what he did say. I mean, it could easily be that.
