And tumbrels. We'll need our tumbrels.

Add tumbrels to infrastructure week. Guillotines too, for that matter.

“Have a look around yourself..”

Hard pass, thanks, Roy. I prefer my wingnuttery second hand and curated by professionals like yourself!

I just explained this to my husband yesterday as I was telling him about people like Freddie de Boer and got into the whole issue of the Manosphere and Gamergate etc. - he was looking at me like how can you read all that kind of toxic bullshit and I said "I never look directly at rightwing media. I have all these online eclipse glasses like Roy Edroso."

I'd like to take credit but I've hardly ever written about Gamergate -- maybe you've read Anna Merlan on the subject?

I mostly follow the manosphere and gamergate and other stuff like that through David Futrelle's "We Hunted the Mammoth" website. I also subscribe to a great email series called "Ctrl-Alt-Right-Delete" on the alt-right with a focus on how they are tied to bots and Russian dis-info.

"Now ask yourself: Is this the behavior of a winning movement? It looks more like pants-pissing tantrums to me. "-----------------------------Just like the Nazis of old, today's fascists are also forced to cultivate the culture of victimhood. There must ALWAYS be the "other" who is holding them down, preventing their REAL triumph, fucking up their plans and efforts. In WWII Germany, it was the Jews and the Gypsies--never mind that those Nazis essentially exterminated or imprisoned all of them! The International Jewish Conspiracy was undermining the war effort! And so it is with today's Nazis. Any time anyone anywhere acts considerately toward someone else, it serves to undermine the entire MAGA movement. If today's fascists exterminated us all, they would still be whining about how liberals and SJWs are in control of everything and destroying their True Conservative Movement.

As someone--I believe it was myself--said, Liberals protest how society treats certain groups, and conservatives protest how liberals treat conservatives. The only thing wingnuts DO is whine and complain. What else CAN they do? They have no affirmative proposals to make anyone's (including--especially--their own) life better, apart from shopworn cliches like "freedom." (That their definition of freedom involves the ability to inhibit others' freedom is just one of their little ironies.) Wm. F. Buckley's very definition of a conservative is of a big shouty complainer. So of course they're snowflakes. And when you're a snowflake, the mere sight of sunlight is an existential threat.

"If elected, I will not make your life any better. But I promise that I will make somebody else's life a whole lot worse. And, I will let you watch!"--Every conservative politician

I never thought of "standing athwart history yelling 'Stop!'" as being a "big shouty complainer" before, but it makes perfect sense.

Make sure those guillotines meet ADA guidelines, Roy. The disabled deserve to revel in the blood of the aristocracy as much as any of us.

"Party to an ACLU letter opposing President Trump's border enforcement efforts" and "actually donned a pink ‘brain p---- hat’ for a 2017 anti-Trump march."

What is it that THEY think THEY are actually doing? 'Sure, those people...snicker...oppose Trump and protest his policies...but WE...um...protest THEM. SNOWFLAKES! HAHAHAHAHAHAH."

After seeing a few minutes of that Andrew Klavan rant against feminism and reading the comments. I thought, "What a bunch of drama queens!" Come on, guys, suck it up.

I just spent a weekend with the right-leaning family, and I'm pleased to announce that this time, more than the failure of the modern university to be indifferent to its students, my fam were a bit concerned ("concerned" is not the correct word) that the upcoming Neil Armstrong movie won't show the flag enough.

But this column is still very useful to me, like a flare sent up in advance of the weird emails I'll start getting next week, or whenever the fam notice their newsfeed is telling them to get up in arms against consideration of the deaf. Oh and yeah -- that'll be despite the fact that they have an 80-percent deaf granddaughter. Wheee!

"..conservatives seem to be going out of their way to be assholes?" They don't seem to be, they are. And they don't deviate from their way at all, it is their way. "Why should I get mad at some leftists who are bending over backwards to be nice to people when conservatives are assholes?"
